The Party of NO......Compromise

If, God forbid, the Republicans take control of one or both Houses of Congress after next week's midterm elections, we can expect still more gridlock in Washington, the worse so because they will be the majority party, and they've made their agenda for the next two years perfectly clear, and that is, according to Senator Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader, the utter destruction of President Obama and his administration. They plan to do nothing else BUT this for the next two years. They do not plan to cooperate with him or show any signs of friendship with him whatsoever. They do NOT plan to fix what is wrong with the country, they do NOT plan to put people back to work, they do NOT plan to end the recession, create jobs or anything else for that matter. Simply put, they plan to dig their heels in and do everything in their power to destroy Obama and turn the rest of the country against him at the same time. Is this the kind of Congress you want working for YOU? Do you want legislators who are hell bent on the destruction of the current administration and nothing else? Do YOU want legislators who will be at the beck and call of the richest 1% of the country and who could not care a whit about we "peasants"? (And oh, yes, that is how they see us, and I am NOT kidding, either. Insurance companies have what they call "dead peasant" life insurance policies that are given through employers that, once you die, the insurance company names itself as the beneficiary and gets all the money and the family gets nothing, nada, not once cent. Don't believe me? Look it up.) There is a plan afoot for our country to become a plutocracy run by the richest 1% of the people who view themselves as the "new aristocracy". That plan is already in motion. The Bush administration was made up of Wall Street execs, and the Treasury Department was filled with former Goldman Sachs employees who allowed the rest of Wall Street to crash to enrich themselves so that they could become the new Masters of the Universe. Wall Street, in essence, drove up to Treasury and emptied it of $700 billion in taxpayer dollars that they essentially made off with to enrich themselves further. Companies that got the billions went on lavish vacations, gave themselves multi-million dollar bonuses and threw the money around like there was no tomorrow. This, folks, was on the Bush watch, NOT Obama's. Democrats originally rejected this bailout but in the end, they caved and voted for it because of pressure from some of the Wall Street folks around Treasury. Look, fact is, under the Bush watch, money was looted from retirement funds, pension funds and others and a whole lot of people lost a whole lot of money. And no one has apologized for screwing up. No one. The crash was so deep that we're still digging out of it after several years and it's going to be a while before we do, but if the Republicans have their way, it'll be back to big giveaways to fat cats and the super rich and not ONE job will be created but the rich will get much, much richer, and all of you who fantasize about joining their ranks someday, forget it. Never going to happen in a million years, so stop fantasizing and come back down to reality. Sure, you can play the lotto every week and hope and pray to hit that big jackpot and become a Master of the Universe like THEM, but they won't let you into their elite club, so stop even trying to hope you'll become rich beyond your wildest dreams and come back down off that cloud, already.

Look, these guys mean what they say when they say, NO COMPROMISE. They've got no intention of creating one single job or getting the economy back on track or doing anything to serve anyone but the few super rich patrons who dole out big fat campaign checks to them. Might as well face it, we no longer live in a democracy. Money talks and whoever has the most of it wins. We the people are, in their eyes, mere peasants, scum of the earth, who they could care less about. Unless you are among the super rich elite who make up a mere 1% of the population (and they hold 95% of this country's wealth - obscene by any measure), they want nothing to do with you, even if you campaign and vote for them. As far as they are concerned, you are no better than a piece of old chewing gum to be scraped off of the soles of their Gucci shoes that they accidentally stepped on. I don't know why any Joe Lunchbucket would vote against their own economic self interest and vote for someone who doesn't care about them or does not plan to work hard for them. No, these guys are extremists who plan to take the country in a dangerous direction that, if they win, we're not going to recognize, and sadly, with the advent of the Citizens United v. FEC court case, there's little we can do to stop them. They'll win and we'll continue our inexorable advance toward becoming a full blown plutocracy that serves the interests of the very few. But people are just dumb enough to eat up their rhetoric and vote for them. In two years time, though, when the economy is still stalled, no jobs have been created, and Washington is completely, totally paralyzed by bitter partisan politics, and nothing whatsoever has been accomplished, well, we'd better hope that people will WAKE UP and realize that they voted for people who basically planned to do.....that's right, you guessed it, NOTHING. Is this what YOU want for the next two years? I sure as hell don't.
