Boar's Head and VietNamese food

This past weekend we went to the annual Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival at Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland. It's an absolutely lovely Mediaeval pageant with great music, featuring blaring trumpets, a resplendent organ and singers. It even has live animals, donkeys and goats! We attend this festival each and every year and it is an audience participation event where we get to sing as well. It's a lot of fun and we would not miss it for all the world. After we go to this, we retreat to a restaurant for Vietnamese food. We used to go to a restaurant called No. 1 Pho on Cleveland's west side that looks very much like an Edward Hopper painting, but we found another Vietnamese restaurant that has even better food called Minh Anh on Cleveland's west side. The inside has knotty wood paneling walls and I suspect that this old storefront has been a restaurant of some kind for many decades. It has that kind of feeling about it. The food is quite outstanding. We've had a lot of Asian food lately thanks to my sister being here to visit for the holidays. I could eat like that every night if I could only learn to cook like that. It's hard living alone and cooking for one person. Just no real motivation when you live alone. It's also hard to know how much food to cook for one person. But I do plan to try to learn to do some basic stuff because I get sick of eating the same thing every night. I hope to start learning to cook a few things in the new year ahead. It's New Year's Eve and I have no plans for tonight but to stay home and ring in the new year by myself.
